Update: as of Wednesday 18th March 2pm
Firstly, we would like to thank our BAT family for all their support during this time. Our last update said that whilst we would be continuing courses in line with Public Health Guidelines and host partner venues and businesses, our promise was to keep the safety and wellbeing of our all our learners, tutors and staff as our number one priority.
In light of recent government updates and recommendations, and our swim school partners suspending lessons we are following guidelines and amending all BAT Courses running from today through to May with immediate effect.
All BAT Courses due to run between now and 31st May will be delivered via a blended approach of online learning interacting with the tutors through virtual classrooms and home study, digital resources and social communities to share your learning. We will then reschedule some intensive practical opportunities at various locations as soon as we are able to.
We welcome the opportunity to work together in the virtual world to ensure you keep motivated and progressing to obtain the qualification as planned. This means you will still be able to interact with us and each other, learn and continue your journey to becoming a great teacher, the Becky Way!
All learners enrolled in April and May will be contacted via email shortly.
We look forward to all our courses from June onwards being back up and running as normal, however we will communicate regularly and who knows – watch this space for new innovation and future ways of working!
We'd like to thank all of our BAT Family - learners, teachers, tutors and partners for their understanding and as ever, stay safe.

Our approach to COVID-19 as of Friday 13th March 4pm
As you will have seen across the media, the UK government is developing measures and putting in place actions to support the control to contain the spread of Coronavirus. Public Health England has updated its advice and now includes parts of Italy in its specified countries and areas with implications for returning travellers or visitors arriving in the UK.
If you or any of your family have recently visited an affected area, (which can be found using the link below), please follow the latest government guidelines. We would ask all our learners and partners to keep up-to-date with the latest advice and Public Health updates.

Specified Countries Guidance: www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-specified-countries-and-areas
In the meantime, please be assured that all our courses are running as planned and Becky Adlington Training are monitoring the situation daily and working closely with each of our venues and swim school partners.
We have briefed and provided specific actions to all of our tutor workforce and will include all guidance and advice across all courses currently running and due to commence over the coming weeks.
Update: as of Tuesday 17th March 10.00am
We recognise that with the constantly changing COVID-19 situation around the world, this is a unprecedented time for everyone, a time for many that is filled with uncertainty and our thoughts are with all our BAT Family and Friends and hope that you are staying safe and healthy.
We wanted to let you know of our commitment to continue providing you with the courses and training you have enrolled onto and are depending upon.
With our strong commitment to training and inspiring the new generation of swimming teachers we value and understand our responsibility to give you the training, development and transition into employment that you deserve whilst also keeping you safe, happy and healthy in body and mind.
Our primary focus is to continue all upcoming courses as planned, we have clear and thorough guidance for all our learners and all our tutors have been full briefed and trained and we wil find creative and suitable solutions where needed.
Over the coming weeks we will be reviewing all upcoming courses, venues and resources appropriately in line with updated guidance and recommendations and opportunities for course and qualification continuity and alternative delivery.
It is important to note that for vocational qualifications such as ours we need to be able to access the swimming lessons and classrooms with our host partner venues and swim schools so naturally we will be dictated to by any changes in their circumstances.
These precautionary measures have been taken to support all our staff, tutors, host partners, customers and yourselves in this challenging time. Rest assured, you are safe with us and we are committed to servicing your training and qualifications needs.
Our leadership team remains vigilant and are monitoring the situation, committing to provide you with honest and real-time communication and any changes as the situation evolves.
Be safe and stay healthy, The BAT Team.
