What is involved?
You will have an induction lesson to orientate you on the use of the classroom and online systems, the qualification and programme and access to all the how to guides and information to get started.
After your induction you will have 10 weeks of learning, each week will have:
2 live lessons per week: lessons range from 1-3 hours depending on the topic, 70% live attendance is required, and all lessons will be recorded for playback as well as half a day each week for catch up questions/support
A mid-course ‘break’ for a 121-support lesson

Practical preparation lesson and 121 support
2 days full days minimum (or equivalent) at a later date for practical observation, assisting, teaching of lessons in one of our partner swim schools (or your own workplace*)
When will it start?
Induction week will start w/c 6th April with 4 available induction lessons. The live lessons and virtual academy will run through to the end of June (with a 1-week break) where we will then plan your practical days and attendance with you as soon as we are able. A full timetable of all lesson times and dates are available on request.
How will I do the practical?
The practical sessions will primarily take place with our partner swim schools across the North West, North East, Midlands and South West (Glos & Bournemouth).
We will put together a practical timetable of these venues and dates once lessons are back up and running.
Practical sessions will run ideally over 4 x 0.5-day sessions on evenings and weekends but can also take place in intensive 2-2.5 days too.
Please note those only wanting to complete SEQ Level 1 Assistant will only be required to attend 2 x 0.5 days (1-day equivalent)
*We are also able to come to you, so if you have access to a swim school, lesson programme (Stages 1-7 or equivalent) then we can send our tutor to you to complete your practical intensively in your own workplace. (This would be arranged on a individual needs basis).
What resources will I need?
The ideal resources you will need for this programme are:
Laptop(access to Microsoft word)
Phone/device for interactive quizzes
Microphone is ideal but not essential (most laptops/phones are built in)
Please note that it is still possible to access the learning through chrome books/iPad/phones, however functionality is not as effective, and we may need to send you a hard copy portfolio via Royal Mail.
