Becky Adlington Training Launches in Scotland!
Director and four-time Olympic Medallist, Becky Adlington, is set to expand her training programme into Scotland! The first course will launch on 6th April at ESMS Stewart’s Melville College, Edinburgh.
Since retiring from competitive swimming in 2013, Becky set her sights on tackling the national Learn to Swim provision, with a goal to redefine the way children learned the lifesaving skill. After initially setting up her industry-leading SwimStars programme which now delivers in six venues across Scotland, Becky moved onto her next challenge; to provide first-class teachers, delivering the best swimming journey possible for all children across the UK.
Becky’s vision has always been for every child to have the opportunity to learn to swim; a vision that she felt was only possible once the industry need for high-quality teachers had been met. In 2016, Becky took the next step to making her vision a reality by joining forces with two of the country’s leading Learn to Swim experts to create Becky Adlington Training, a Swim England Approved Centre delivering Level 1, 2 and Combined Swimming Teacher Qualifications.
Since their first course back in 2016, Becky Adlington Training has produced over 350 swimming teachers in centres across the North West of England. Discussing her training company, Becky said,
“I’m so proud of everything we’ve achieved so far at Becky Adlington Training. I’m lucky to be able to work alongside like-minded people that believe in my vision and understand how important well-trained, passionate teachers are in our industry. Our tutors have such a wealth of experience, knowledge and love for what they do – it really is infectious.
Our next challenge to deliver courses nationwide may be our most exciting yet! Our first few venues have been a fantastic building block for us but we’re now at the point where we’re ready to grow and expand into new areas.”
