We ask Becky how Media City compared to the Gold Coast

We caught up with Becky as her role with the BBC reporting on the 2018 Commonwealth Games comes to a close, to see how the studios in MediaCity compared to the Gold Coast.

“I had such a fantastic time with the BBC team keeping up with the Games. Filming in Manchester might have meant we weren't able to head to the beach between shows but it was such a great atmosphere – and I must admit, seeing the rain at the open-air pool did make the warm studio seem even better.

“Being here instead of at individual venues also meant I was able to watch the other events unfold as well. Normally I only get to see the swimming events but this year I’ve been able to cheer the Home Nations on across the board – especially cycling with Chris [Hoy] joining us in the studio.


“And of course, not having to take Summer [Becky’s two year old daughter] on an 18+ hour flight was much easier!”
